Pricing for custom cakes is individualized.  Many considerations go into your price:

  • ingredients
  • design
  • construction
  • time
  • difficulty

My minimum order is $65.


Cakes iced in buttercream start at $3 per serving. Cakes covered in fondant start at $3.65 per serving.   Premium flavors incur an additional charge per serving.  Pound cake is an additional $0.50 per serving, and carrot cake is an additional $0.35 per serving.  Fruitcake is an additional $3/serving.  Most of my fillings are included in this price.  Nutella or premium jam for your filling will be charged at actual cost, which can be provided during your bridal tasting.  There is no upcharge for having different flavors in each tier of your wedding cake.

There will be surcharges for large quantities of edible flowers and for figure modeling, fondant bows, large quantities of edible pearls, etc.  Fresh or silk flowers purchased and provided by the client can be arranged simply on the cake at no additional charge.  A florist will be required for anything complex, at whatever rate they would charge. 
I include a free six inch tier for your anniversary as my gift to you.  This can either be the top tier of your wedding cake, or a fresh cake made for you for your first anniversary.


Plain, undecorated, single layer sheet cakes may be purchased at the discounted rate of $1.75 per serving.  A typical half sheet serves about 54 guests.  Please contact me to discuss pricing for your wedding cake in more detail. 


The same pricing guidelines apply as for weddings:  $3/serving for buttercream and $3.65/serving for fondant.  This is a good tool for estimation.  However, your price may be higher or lower based on design.  (For instance, carved or exceptionally detailed cakes will be more, while some very simple cakes may be less.)  All 3 dimensional cakes start at $5/serving, with a 30 serving minimum.  Please call me to discuss in detail. 
I do my best to keep my prices down without compromising quality. I use only fresh ingredients, eggs from pasture raised hens, and imported Swiss fondant.  My cakes are custom created from scratch for your special occasion....therefore, your cake may cost more than one purchased at a local discount store.  


Delivery and setup of wedding cakes is free in West Chester.  Otherwise there will be a delivery fee based on distance from my home.  All non wedding cakes will incur a delivery fee.  (I regret that I cannot sell cakes outside of Ohio, for legal reasons.) 


I require a 50% deposit to hold your date, and the remainder at least 21 days prior to the event.  I require a deposit to cover the cost of any equipment, such as fountains, cake plates, pillars, staircases, and the like.  Your deposit will be refunded upon the return of the equipment in it's original condition.  Any damage/loss will be deducted from the deposit.


Every effort will be made to issue a full refund of your deposit as long as I have not started working on your cake.  Please keep in mind that for orders with embellishments that are made ahead of time, such as molded figures, large quantities of flowers, sugarpaste flowers, fondant ribbons, etc, I may start as early as 5 weeks ahead of your date.  There will be no refunds if your cake is already made.  Cancellations made within the 3 week final payment window will result in forfeiture of the deposit.


Cash, checks (Payable to either "The Icing on the Cake" or "Stacie Rusk").

Returned checks will be assessed a non-refundable $35 fee, regardless of the reason given.
